Choose the right PDF workflow.
Smaller files, readable documents
Start with Smart compression to preserve selectable text. Lossless optimization avoids intentional image-quality reduction. Raster compression can shrink scans further but flattens content into page images. Use Balanced for ordinary reading and Fine for small print. Inspect text at 200% or 300% in the comparison view. No setting can guarantee a smaller file or perfect quality for every document; the original is retained when it is smaller unless you request otherwise.
PDF to Word
Choose Editable text for searchable documents or scans. Text, approximate font sizes, page boundaries, and simple aligned tables are reconstructed; graphics and complex layouts are not recreated. Choose Preserve appearance for page images in a Word document. This retains page appearance with margins, but the content is not editable text.
PDF to text and scans
Automatic mode reads existing text and uses OCR on pages with little usable text. If an existing text layer is broken, choose OCR every page. Choose English, French, Persian, or English + French. Set a page range for longer documents. OCR works best with clear upright scans; it can misread faint text, handwriting, numbers, and columns. Download the text or copy it from the preview.
Edit and fill forms
Edit PDF adds text, highlights, shapes, pen marks, and images over original content. It does not rewrite existing paragraphs. Use Fill PDF forms for standard editable fields. White overlays and cropping do not securely redact information. Digital signatures can become invalid after edits. A pen mark or image signature is not a certified digital signature.
Lock your PDF
Lock PDF requires a password to open the exported file with AES-256 encryption. Store the password safely. Password removal and recovery are not provided.
Limits and privacy
Files are processed on your device with no document uploads, accounts, or subscription. Per-file limit: 100 MB; combined input: 200 MB and 30 files. Word and text conversion: up to 100 pages, with up to 20 OCR pages per job. Large or complex documents may exceed your device’s available memory. Use a current browser and smaller page ranges if needed.
After downloading a PDF, use Continue with this PDF to open it in another tool. Refreshing or closing the app discards the in-memory workspace.
What is not included
Office-to-PDF conversion, complex-layout Word reconstruction, direct existing-text rewriting, secure redaction, digital-signature certificates, collaborative cloud storage, and signature-request workflows are not included. Avoid using another tool’s name or feature list as a guarantee of identical results.
